There are a variety of needs at the orphanage/school we have chosen to work with. While we can’t tackle all of them, we will be working on those most critical to health and education.

We will be constructing a large multi purpose school building, illustrated below, which will be used for teaching, studying, testing, eating, presentations, and for gathering of the entire student body of 657.

It will also have built-in sleeping bunks that fold up against the walls, providing chalk boards when closed. This will give the building 24 hour utilization and help ease the orphan dormitory situation, where children of all ages sleep two per mattress.

The new building’s roof area will also serve to support a solar system to provide power and hot water.

In addition we will install systems to collect and distribute rain water and install proper sanitation systems including a drain field.

Lastly we will greatly expand the library containing books for K-12 readers. English is the second official language of Lesotho, which boasts one of the highest literacy rates among developing nations. However the current library contains only 250 books for over 650 students and orphans. We have already collected over 1,000 book donations and welcome more. Please contact us if you have books to donate.
